The Fox Cityz Foxz give back!
All of our skaters are required to participate in various charitable events throughout the year. Last season we were pleased to give a portion of our bout proceeds to various women’s organizations and other local charities.
Each skater in our league has some part of the community that touches their heart, and as a league we strive to give them an opportunity to give back to those charities. There is no limit to what we can achieve when put we our combined hearts and resources to work. The Fox Cityz Foxz look forward to finding new and rewarding ways to give back in our upcoming seasons.
2010 Season Jonah Hinds Fundraising Results!
The Foxz are very pleased to announce that over the course of our 2010 home season's fundraising efforts for Jonah, we raised $2829 for his care and medical expenses! GO FOXZ!

Jonah Hinds is currently a 5th grade student at St. Peter’s Lutheran in Fond du Lac, WI. He suffers from a debilitating form of Tourette Syndrome.
In December 2006 Jonah woke up with severe tremors. After months of doctor appointments at various hospitals, they finally concluded he had a rare condition called Sydenham's Chorea which was caused by a strep infection.
The infection then caused an autoimmune disorder that ultimately damaged the part of Jonah’s brain that controls his movement. The doctors were hopeful that monthly intravenous immunoglobulin treatments (giving him antibodies from blood donations to bolster his immune system) would reverse the condition. After a year of the treatments his condition was getting worse. The Neurologists now feel he has a severe but rare form of Tourette Syndrome. Most days he has complete loss of motor control and is continuously shaking and writhing, making the school days and sitting through church very difficult.
We have not found any medications that have helped and most have unbearable and dangerous side effects. The doctors anticipate his condition will worsen through puberty prohibiting him from obtaining a drivers license, holding a job, participating in sports and making school work almost impossible.
Because of the severity, they feel he will not recover into adulthood as many Tourettes patients do. Our last option to give Jonah a normal life is to try a procedure called Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). Electrodes are implanted deep into his brain with leads to a pacemaker in his chest emitting electrical currents to his brain which will correct his motor control. While the surgery has risks, once he is healed there are no side effects with DBS.
The Foxz have run several campaigns to collect food and toiletries for local shelters.

We were happy to team up with the American Heart Association and Affinity Health Systems to promote women’s health during last year’s Red Dress Campaign. We were able to provide information to our fans on all aspects of women’s health, including fertility, pregnancy, heart health, breast health, and we were able to make a donation to the Red Dress Campaign along the way.
